On Wednesday, January 20, 2010, our department responded to a structure fire in a rural residence.  During fire suppression operations, the pump on our main apparatus was damaged due to an unfortunate operational error.  I called Bob Sorensen, President of FireGuard and requested their assistance.  FireGuard’s Emergency Vehicle Technician Kevin Eliason cleared his schedule and began the steps necessary to get our truck back in service.  Within a day of receiving our truck, Kevin had the pump torn down, a damage estimate completed and a parts list on order.  My preliminary estimate on the down-time for our truck was a month at the earliest.  To my surprise, our truck was back in service in less than three weeks.  Thank you to Bob Sorensen and the staff at FireGuard for their quick action in getting our truck back in service.
